Welcome!

Message from the New President

Aloha Hawaii-Pacific Chapter of ACHE Members,

First, I want to thank the Hawaii-Pacific Chapter of ACHE for allowing me to serve as President and be a part of an organization that focuses on healthcare leaders that are committed to improving health. Our chapter has excelled in supporting our leaders, and I am excited to continue this critical work. This year presents many opportunities for myself and the chapter board as we continue to develop and improve our education and social offerings that our members find beneficial. We are excited about the opportunity to engage our membership by providing in-person and virtual options.

The second opportunity the board and I are excited to work on is increasing membership and engaging students and early careerists through mentorship. These individuals are the future of healthcare leadership, and our members can provide valuable mentoring opportunities to these individuals. We also want to increase membership by addressing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion within our chapter. Our newly expanded DEI committee will work with our members to conduct an ongoing assessment of diversity in our chapter area/create a survey to gain further insight into perceptions of diversity and inclusion efforts within our local chapter.

As mentioned, the chapter board is excited to provide networking and social events again. Networking provides an opportunity to discuss important issues in healthcare leadership. This is also an excellent opportunity to highlight the values of our FACHE certification and other benefits to non-members. I encourage you to bring a non-member to a social or educational event this year.

For our current and prospective members, I want to assure you that my intention, and that of the chapter board, is to grow the Hawaii-Pacific chapter of ACHE. We will stay focused on remaining as a benefit to our members while staying current with Industry standards and focused on our patients. I look forward to a productive, successful presidency and invite each of you to participate and, most importantly, become involved.

Mahalo,

Kristen Croom
President – Hawaii-Pacific Chapter of ACHE
